A few things to know before you dig in

• This is volunteer-collected data. Coverage varies by site and year based on who was available to count, so gaps and inconsistent effort are part of the record — not necessarily changes in swift numbers. Treat raw counts as an index of activity, not a census.

• Counts reflect birds entering a single roost, not total population — swifts move between roost sites throughout the season.

• We can't guarantee the data is error-free. It's reviewed but not exhaustively audited. If you spot something that looks wrong, please let us know.

• GPS coordinates are not provided. Some locations are sensitive habitat, private property, and/or functioning businesses or organizations where disturbance or high volume visitations could be detrimental. Coordinates may be provided upon request.
